Frame size describes your bone structure, not your weight. Enter your height and wrist measurement to find whether you have a small, medium, or large frame. These ranges are for adult women.

How to measure your wrist
Wrap a soft tape measure, or a strip of paper, around your wrist just below the wrist bone, on the hand side. Keep it snug but not tight. If you use paper, mark the overlap and measure it against a ruler. Measure the wrist you do not usually wear a watch on, since it is typically a little smaller.
What frame size means for clothes
Frame size affects how clothes and accessories look in proportion to your body. People with a small frame often find delicate jewelry and slimmer cuts in proportion, while a larger frame can carry bolder pieces and more structure. It is a loose guide, and the wrist method is a rough estimate rather than a medical measurement.
Frequently asked questions
What does frame size mean?
Frame size is a rough description of your bone structure: small, medium, or large. Two people of the same height and weight can have different frame sizes.
How accurate is the wrist method?
It is a quick, widely used estimate, but it only looks at one measurement. Treat it as a guide for understanding your proportions, not as a medical assessment.
Do men use the same ranges?
No. This calculator uses ranges for adult women. Men’s ranges are different, so do not use these numbers for them.
Can my frame size change?
Your bone structure stays the same through adulthood, so your frame size does not change with weight. Your wrist measurement can shift slightly, but not enough to move you between sizes in most cases.
