Mission

Cloudy was created with the goal of uniting youth voices in Daly City, along with highlighting artistic and literary talent. We welcome all kinds of writing and art, and we hope that Cloudy will be a safe and inclusive space for people of all identities to share their work. Historically, in comparison to the rest of the California Bay Area, Daly City youth often don’t get the same opportunities. To bridge the gap, and as part of Daly City’s Youth Poet Laureate Program (hosted by the Daly City Public Library Associates), Cloudy was founded in 2022. 

Despite our emphasis on Daly City youth to submit to Cloudy, we are open to anyone who has something to share! Art and writing doesn’t stop at a border, and we don’t expect it to. 

With a name inspired by the fog of Daly City, we urge artists and writers to look past the constant clouds and create something beautiful by following their passions.
